Montreal trip

Hey all!

I just returned a few weeks back from a week long trip to Montreal for the MPI WEC Conference and I wanted to share a little of my experience.

My opinion of Montreal is that it is GREAT!  They speak french and it was as close to Paris as I have ever been.  The people are friendly and there are tons of restaurants and night clubs and plenty of things to see and do.

Montreal is a large city and you kinda get the New York City feel with everything being right off the street.  I recommend a weekend in Montreal!

Spring Travel

Happy Thursday all!

It has been such a busy spring but I have a few places to update you on.  In my travels this spring I have been from coast to coast and even in the water at times.

First, Disneyland...The original place where DREAMS come true!  I had such a good time here.
It had been years since I was in Southern Cali for fun.  I visited Mickey on my journey and Disneyland will always be great, just walking around and knowing that this is where it all began.  Space Mountain is rocking and California Adventure was great.   No need to spend more than three days doing the whole Disney thing but I highly recommend staying at a Disney property for the convenience.

Now on the Washington, DC.  I escorted a group to DC in May and if you have never been to DC you must go...for the history, the food and the shopping- Georgetown is not to be missed.

Now for my favorite part of traveling- CRUISES.
I had the opportunity to spend two days on the new Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas...WOW what a ship!
I spent hours on the Flowrider (surfing at sea) and had tons of fun falling.   This ship has one of the best shows I have ever seen, if you are wanting 7 days of doing nothing or doing it all this is the ship for you!

I also got to spend a night with Rosie O'Donnell back in December on the new NCL ship the Pearl.  I enjoyed myself on this short cruise, good food, good entertainment.

I still think you can not beat taking a cruise for a vacation and I have two lined up for this year.

Norwegian Dream

Ahoy!

I just returned from the Remarkable Vacations Friends and Family 2006 cruise on the Norwegian Dream.  This was such a GREAT vacation and gathering!

We traveled on Norwegian Cruise Lines- Norwegian Dream on a 7 day cruise to Progreso, Mexico, Cozumel, Mexico and Belize.  The Dream is a smaller ship and we felt the waves on the first and last night but overall it was a great cruise.

Progreso was a small little town, used to be a fishing town, and you could see the whole town in 20 minutes- buy the $2.00 bus tour.   Cozumel was crowded but we did the Fury Catamaran and the people on the boat made this tour, we had a blast!  Ok, now for Belize, we did the swinging through the jungle and tubing through the caves tour- If you ever go to Belize you MUST do this tour- we even saw monkeys!

Overall Norwegian Cruise Lines is great, not good for a large group- we had 16 people- as it is very hard to schedule to eat together.

2007 the Friends and Family group is looking at cruising to Alaska with Royal Caribbean, want to join us?

Holland America Cruise

Good Afternoon travelers,

I just returned from a repositioning cruise with Holland America Cruises on the Vaandam.  The cruise was from Vancouver, to San Diego, California and was only 3 days long.  This cruise has to be the best cruise I have ever taken.

Let me start with Vancouver, Great people and a great place, nothing like what I was expecting.  Vancouver is a large city with allot of high rise building, but the people are so friendly and helpful.  Vancouver is setting up for the next Winter Olympics and there is all tons of construction going on but we saw a movie being filmed and we where actually in the scene without knowing it.  I have to tell you this story, we awoke and left the hotel in search of breakfast (there are tons of coffee and breakfast houses around downtown) and as we walked we noticed that the people of Vancouver dressed strange and just racked it up to the fact that they are west coast people.  Well as we approach a stop light to cross the street the woman stops us (head set and radio in hand), does not say anything just hold her hand out in the "stop' command and we her "Action" from down the street and she says "We are rolling" and all those strange people we noticed started to talk and walk around.  When they yelled "Cut" the woman told us they are filming an American movie on the street and that everyone on the street is the background for the movie.   Interesting we thought, what a way to be in a movie and not know it.

Ok now to the cruise, Holland did a great job from the start of our cruise.  Boarding was very easy and quick and the staff on board was very friendly and helpful.   The staff always said Good Morning or Good Day as they walked past us; they asked if you needed help if you looked lost.

This cruise was a short re-positioning cruise, meaning that the ship had just finished doing cruises to Alaska and needed to be positioned in San Diego for Hawaii cruises.  This cruise was inexpensive in price and worth every dime we paid.

Food was great on the ship, entertainment could have been better but for a 3 day vacation of doing nothing at all this was the place to be.   If you have never cruises this would be a great start.

I will be producing a group on this cruise next year, so if anyone is interested contact me for information.

Travel to St. Maarten

I hope everyone is having a great summer!

I just wanted to post that at this time I do not recommend visiting St. Maarten in the Caribbean.  It was posted in January that two tourists where beaten with a tire iron by locals outside a bar on the island.  It seems that the local police did nothing and so far have still not done alot to capture and charge the men involved in the crime.

I do not recommend the island at this time!
